How effective are online support groups? The Stepfamily Zone has been online since late 1997, providing in one form or another online support. We implemented our first main forum area several years ago and have been overwhelmed by the response and need for such a forum. For many stepparent it is the only forum of support that they can find. In Australia face to face support groups are few and far between, so online forums provides many stepparent with the opportunity to ask questions, to vent and more importantly provide support to other stepparents.
