This website has been developed and made accessible with the view of providing information and where possible support to stepfamilies in Australia. One of the exciting features of the Stepfamilyzone site is that it allows you an opportunity to publish your views on topics of interest on one of our bulletin boards, or to participate in on-line discussion forums and topical issues. While the Stepfamilyzone believes that the on-line discussion forums and message boards are an ideal way of learning more about the diversity of public views and opinions on stepparenting issues, the generally unrestricted nature of the Internet could potentially lead to the discussions being abused or misused by some people. To facilitate the free exchange of public opinion and at the same time monitor any potentially disruptive or undesirable input, a moderator has been appointed to supervise the running of the bulletin board and on-line discussion forums. The moderator is a Board Member of the Stepfamily Association. The moderator has the right to: refuse, or remove from the site, material submitted by a user which in the moderator's reasonable opinion tends to incite violence, racial hatred or intolerance against any group in our society, or which in the moderator's opinion may constitute a defamatory statement, an infringement of copyright or a breach of any other law; contact, and/or cancel the registration of, any user who in the moderator's reasonable opinion has failed to observe general internet etiqutte. and edit, abridge, amend or otherwise alter any material submitted to the Stepfamilyzone site for publication. In the event that the moderator edits, abridges, amends or otherwise alters a user's submitted material, the user shall (whenever possible) be advised accordingly and given the opportunity to withdraw the information from publication.
