Barriers to Childhood Development

Childhood development involves multiple factors, including a child's physical, mental, emotional and social well-being. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), children whose "developmental needs are not met are at an increased risk for compromised health and safety" as well as developmental shortcomings in the areas of academic learning.
