Yours, mine and ours face challenge By Teddye Snell TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS (TAHLEQUAH, Okla.) TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The old adage, “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy,” may hold a kernel of truth – not just for mothers, but for parents in general.
Children are keen observers of parental relationships, and they home in on stress within their parents’ marriage.
Lynn Kesner, Tahlequah mother of two, understands this better than some. She recently remarried and has custody of her two boys, creating a “blended” family, or stepfamily. Although the transition creates tension in many cases, Kesner’s boys show little or no resentment to having a stepfather.
